Tips'n Tricks #2 - Side Chaining Plugins in Reaper

Back with Tips'n Tricks. This time I'll show how to side chain plugins in Reaper. I'll demonstrate the trick with the Reaper stock gate plugin, and also the Reaper stock compressor.

There are lots and lots of useful situations for using side chains, so be sure to check this out if you are unfamiliar with side chaining, or if you are not sure how to do it.

Short'n Snappy #2 - EQ

Hello All! This has been a strange week. I don't really know what has happened. Maybe it's just me and my wonky brain, but I have felt that I have had ample time to concentrate on my mixing thingies. In addition to this, I went out and listened some live bands. Did some some recordings for our project band (cant wait to get this one out). And on top of it all, our cover band seems to have activated in to a more active state. And I like it! There are of course still lots of stuff on my desk to be done, but still my mind seems to be slowly approaching Zen-state.

Short'n Snappy #1 - Compression

It's been a busy few weeks again. I finished one new mix (listen here) but mostly did some quick edits and tinkered (with a relatively low success) with some mastering gizmos on some recordings. In addition, our project band has got some new spark on recording our next song. Not to mention the home-front with all the undone stuff piling up. Therefore I decided to start a series of Short'n Snappy tutorialish snippets on all things mixing. These shouldn't take too much time and I'm sure that I will learn a lot, as I try squeeze my limited knowledge on a Short'n Snappy format. And who knows, maybe someone else can get something out if it too.
